This notice was created to give you full transparency of how we collect and use the personal data you have provided, or we have observed or inferred (Privacy Information). This document informs you of your rights, how to request them, and who at Trend you need to contact regarding privacy concerns.

2      What personal information do we process and why?

2.1      Order fulfilment and processing

We use your personal data; name, telephone number, email, and postal address to fulfil a contract and provide the products you have ordered from us. we may also receive this data from authorised trend dealers, for the purposes of order fulfilment. In this instance please refer to their privacy notices for further information.

2.2      Customer Services and Technical support

When you contact our customer service or technical teams, we may hold name, email address, telephone number and postal address, as well as details of your enquiry. This is to help provide you with the services you contacted us for. We do not use these details for any other purpose e.g. direct marketing.

2.3      Product Warranties

When you take out a warranty with us, we will use your name, telephone number, email, and postal address solely for the purpose of allowing us to maintain our commitment to our warranty on the product(s) you have purchased.

2.4      Marketing Communications

If we hold your name and email address, we may use this information to contact you about our latest products , information and offers about our products and services. If you provided this data as part of the purchase process, we may use our legitimate interests i.e. marketing of Trend products and services, to send you marketing unless, and until, you ask us to stop. In all other cases we will ask for your permission (consent) before using the data to send marketing communications.

2.5      Preferences and interests

When you visit our website we may, with your prior consent, use cookies and other web devices to learn about your interests and preferences by recording and reviewing the pages, products, and services you click on. As a result of this profiling, we will be better able to identify the Trend products that are of most interest to you and present these to you when you visit our website(s) or when we send you marketing materials.

2.6      Market research

From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail.

2.7      Service reviews

We utilise third-party review platforms and providers to help collect and collate independent reviews on our customer experience, as well as service and technical teams. The data processed includes Name, Email Address and a reference number, which is typically an order reference or enquiry reference. The provider will send out an automated email to request a review of our service. The data is not processed for any other purpose beyond the collection of a review. Placing multiple orders or contacting out support teams, can result in multiple requests for a review. You can unsubscribe from this service at any time using the unsubscribe link, found at the end of every marketing Email.

 

Do we pass your information to others? 

Yes, but only to provide the services that we offer, and only to recipients who process your data under strict contractual obligations (second parties).

We do not sell or rent your information to third parties.

The following are the data processors that we may pass information to:

  • Platform as a Service (PaaS) providers e.g. Magento
  • Trend’s appointed Web Devleopment partner
  • Authorised Dealers and carriers and fulfilment partners, who are under contractual obligation to safeguard your personal information.
  • Email marketing service providers who will carry out our email marketing campaigns. You can unsubscribe from these communications easily by following the unsubscribe link at the end of every marketing email.
  • Market research organisations who will carry out research on our behalf. We will only use market research organisations who commit to the protection of your data by adhering to the Market Research Society (MRS) Code of Practice.

2.8      Do we pass your information to recipients outside of the UK and the EU?

Yes. Our Web Store is hosted in Dublin Ireland (EU), by Magento. The hosting organisation is a data processor contracted to support us and restricted in its use of your data. The transfer of your personal data to Dublinis protected by suitable safeguards, including the use of Information Commissioner approved Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and/or ‘Adequacy Decision’.

3      How long will we keep the information?

3.1      Data retention for Marketing purposes

We will keep your information for as long as we hold valid consent. Consent will be refreshed every two years.

Where data is processed under legitimate interests, it will be retained so long as there is an active dialogue i.e. you are opening/responding to our marketing correspondence. It will not be processed for marketing purposes after two years of inactivity.

3.2      Data Retention for the purposes of Customer Service and Technical Support

We will keep your information for this purpose for three years from the date of last contact. After which your personal data will be automatically removed. Anonymous details of your enquiry may be kept beyond this date, depending on the nature of the enquiry. This does not affect your right to erasure.

3.3      Data retention for the purposes of Product Warranty

We will keep your information to uphold our commitment to our product warranty for 7 years, or until your warranty expires, whichever is longer. Depending on the type of product purchased, we may keep your data for a period of 7 years after date of purchase, for safety and product recall communications. We will not use this information for any other purpose.

After this period, it does not affect your right to erasure.

3.4      Data retention for the purposes of Order Fulfilment and Processing

We will keep your information to uphold our commitment to deliver the products you have ordered from us, or an authorised Trend Stockist. We will keep this data for 7 years. Depending on the type of product purchased, we may keep your data for a period of 7 years after date of purchase, for safety and product recall communications. We will not use this information for any other purpose.

4     Your Rights

4.1      Right to withdraw consent

Where data is processed with your consent, you have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Once we have received notification that you have withdrawn your consent, we will stop processing your information for the purpose you originally agreed to. You can also easily unsubscribe from our marketing emails by actioning the unsubscribe device in every email we send to you.

4.2      Right of access to your personal information (data subject access request)

You may contact us at any time to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.

4.3      Right of rectification 

You have the right to request that any of the personal information that we hold about you is updated with the correct details.

4.4      Right of erasure 

You have the right to ask us to delete or remove personal information where there is no valid reason for us continuing to process it.

4.5      Right to restrict processing 

You have the right to restrict our processing of your personal information. This enables you to ask us to suspend the processing of personal information about you, for example if you want us to establish its accuracy or the reason for processing it.

5      Right to complain to the ICO
